What I Do As A Therapist
Do you feel like you keep having the same argument with your partner and have stopped bringing issues up because you know it will turn into a big argument?
Do you feel like you have lost the joy in your relationship? I love working with couples to help you improve how you handle conflict so you can rekindle the joy in your relationship.
How I Can Help You As Your Therapist
Feeling connected and loved is a primal need that you experience. I can help you learn how to ask for what you want in your relationship in a way your partner can hear.
I will also help you manage disagreements effectively so they don’t become roadblocks to trust and intimacy.
After an assessment of your relationship you’ll understand what components create a solid relationship and we’ll work on areas that need to be strengthened.
We will also explore your attachment styles and how your ability to regulate your emotions will show up in your relationship so you can prevent this from damaging your relationship.
My Background And Experience
I earned my masters degree in Social Work in 2010 and have experience in various capacities working with individuals, couples, and families in Denver to help them improve their mental health and achieve their goals in life.
I began specializing in couples therapy using the Gottman Method because I recognize how vital intimate relationships are to your overall mental health and I’m trained in Gottman level I & II.
The Gottman Method is also one of only seven couples counseling modalities that has research to support its effectiveness.
I also utilize concepts from Emotional Focused Therapy which takes into account how your attachment style affects how you interact with intimate partners.
I would love to help you understand more about the importance of your attachment style and how to manage intense and overwhelming feelings, sometimes called flooding, so you can literally rewire your brain to respond to situations differently to benefit you and your relationship.
